Nancy
Goldstein has
been lighting theatre, dance and opera for over
twenty-five years. Her designs for dance have been
mounted for companies such as Aerial Dance Theatre,
BalletRox, Boston Ballet II, Ballet Theatre of
Boston, Jeannette Neill Dancers, Boston Youth Moves,
Danceworks, Impulse Dance Company, Dinosaur Dance
Company, and choreographers including Leslie Woodies,
Yo-el Cassell, Anthony Williams, Dwight Rhoden, Jose
Mateo, Danny Buraczeski, Lynn Simonson, Jacques
D'Amboise, Peter DiMuro, Carl Thomsen, and Marcus
Schulkind. She was invited by choreographer Janet
Taisey Craft to create designs for pieces set on the
Independent Troupe of Alla Sigalova in the former
Soviet Union during a five-week residency. Designs
for theatre and opera have included lighting and
special effects for Commonwealth Shakespeare Company,
Boston Musica Viva, Christmas Revels and Black
Nativity, working with directors Steven Maler,
Nicholas Deutsch, Patrick Swanson, and Elma Lewis,
among others.
